I have only had my R reg (98) polo 2 weeks and the fuel guage went from just below top of zero to absolute zero within 5 miles. I wasn't booting it, and recently got 55mpg on a (75:25 motorway heavy) 90 mile run, so no heavy foot syndrome on this occasion!

Is this normal?

How many miles from dead empty to empty! ?

Engine is 1L, but manages to feel frisky if needed by my usual ride a battered MWB Merc Sprinter 113 CDi being very very slow!

You should be getting 320 miles with normal driving, give or take.

I get 200 miles to half a tank on my 1.0L 6n.

And that was averaging 85mph
