Air filter?

Hello!

I just installed an APEC air filter on my car. The only thing I got is the more powerfull sound. Then we connected a tester on the car and went for some ride. The tempereture of air that the motor is sucking into it˙s self is to hot! Because the filter is mounted directly on the machine. Does anybody know, where can I buy air filter which will be mounted away from the motor hot area? Any ideas?

Hi Peter,

Most people choose to fit 'cold air feeds', which is basically tubing guiding cold air (from behind the front bumper) upwards and back towards the filter.

Alternatively, you could fabricate a tube that connects to the throttle body, with the cone filter on the end. There may even be companies that make special filters-on-a-tube thingies.

Hope that helps!

Make yourself a bonnet bulge intake to direct the air right onto the custom filter, like some kind of crazy muscle car! :D

(I'm assuming its a carb or SPi car with a big round filter thats now taking the place of the old air box? Rather than an intake-end bolt on?)
