Hi,

I have a S Reg (1999) 1.4L polo. I have been using it for a few years now and its behaved really well recently!

Well since the last 2 days my Interior Dashboard Dials have stopped working. (Speedo meter, petrol, temperature, clock and milage dispay)

non of it is working

I remember it happened along time ago but that time it was different, the Dials started working when i left it overnight!

This time it seems like its completely dead.

When i put the key in and turn it half the battery light comes on but not the oil light. I know usually a few come on first and then when i turn it on full the car will start and the light will disappear.

I have checked all the fuses but that seems to be ok.

I want to take it to a garage but before getting conned lol i thought ill ask u guyz first!

Do u think i have a big problem. Will it cost in hundreds? My car does work and drive normally, its just i dont know how much petrol i have or the speed im going at.

Also anything i should be aware of before just telling them to fix it?

Any help advise will be most appreciated.

I had this same problem last year in my 97 1.4CL, in the end i ended up buying a new instrument cluster off ebay for around £40 i pulled out the old one and plugged in the ebay one and it worked.
