Central locking pump whine..leak?

Hi all,

As of today when i unlock my gti the pump continues to whine for about 30 seconds, however the car unlocks and locks perfectly. It also doesnt make the whine when i lock it, it only does it when i unlock it. I can hear air hissing drivers side door, i presume its a leak, no idea how it could have been caused though.... if i take the door card off and find the leak and seal all shall be well? i am worried about the motor burning out though..... :/

Sounds like you have solved your own problem there

Find the leak assuming its only a small nick... wrap duct tape around it good and tight.....


And yes... running the pump for long periods of time will damage it!
