hi has any one ever carried out this conversion, 1.4 16v g40 (do you know any links), or is a g60 better?, the g60 seem easier to get hold of, i have a corrado also and there are plenty of g60 16v conversions out there, i was going to sell my polo 1.4 16v (its the 100hp one), and buy a seat ibiza 2.016v and do something with that, but i am having some second thoughts now, cheers for looking at the post

G60 engines are alot heavier though then g40 engines, that is if you can get hold of a g40 let alone a engine from one.

It can be done - anything is possible, but it would take a while as you gotta get the clocks etc to work, and the mk3 engines are much much different in so many ways to the mk4 engines.

why would the clocks have anything to do with it? I may be being stupid i warn you all now heavy hangover.
Yeh i dare say you can G60 a 16v polo. Why mnot? Just need some kind of reprogrammable ecu and a fabricated bracket to support the charger. What else could you ask for lol. This kind of thing is virgin territory for me so thats all i can say.

ECU and that is different. The Mk4s use a different management system, so making everything work with what the mk4 has is a bit of a nightmare if you want it to work properly.

Not mechanically minded but a VR conversion requires a lot of work to shoehorn it in!
Don't think a G60 has been carried out on polo's but G40 lumps are a better fit and has been done. One of the guys on Edition38 used to have a 6n2 with a G40 conversion. Best to do all your research and find someone who's done a good conversion with a G40 in a 6n/2.
