Help Needed Fitting Central Locking Kit

Hi guyz,

Ive just bought a central locking kit for my polo!

Lol i didnt know to fit it, the cost will be £40 per door! My car is a 1999 model and £160 is abit too much lol

Well anyways i thought as i got it now y not try it by myself!

Where do i start from haha

OK i know now to take all the door panels apart now :)

but i need someones help to please guide me how to fit the actual thing!

What i will do is at each step put photos up so someone can tell me if im doing it correctly! Hey hey i might save money lol or i might just end up not having the locking system lol but ill definately giv it a try and learn! :)

So please can u brilliant ppl keep me posted wid my errors :)

Hi again,

Thanks for the above posts! Itz really helpful!

I got my Kit from ebay for £29, not bad but until it works lol

Well ive moved along abit :)

Im on STEP 2 now

I decided to do the Rear doors first and below is a photo of how i attached the rod to the clamp and door lock.

I hope ive done it right, please feel free to comment on any errors seen.

I will connect the motor next and post the photo. Unfortunately i need to drill but cant seem to get a good position.

Right did the wiring today and now i understand y they say it cost £160 lol

It took me 4 hours, OMG, i couldnt get the wires through the front left door :evil:

but anywayz after 4 hours of hard tiring work i DID IT lol

please do not get put off by this as im not a technical/practical person at all!

If i can do it anyone can :)

well this is the photo of that same door with the wires i couldnt get through lol

im taking a break tommorow lol

i shall continue on wednesday with fitting the door motors/solenoids :)
