Hey guys i'm Mark (but everyone calls me Moose), got a Black 1.4 16v as my first car and loving it. Got so much i want to do with it, a list as long as my arm! I had a custom stainless steel exhaust fitted today from Powercraft it sounds sweet :)

What's really pissed me off today is that i was on my way to Cornwall for a surf (i live in Torbay) and i got Totnes and my car started showing it was over heating so i pulled over and basically i think the thermastat has gone. Is this a comman problem in these Polo's? so yeh had to leave it in Totnes and will get it towed back later :(

Really going Euro style with my black magic, getting some compomotive TH's on soon, lowering it some more, debaging the whole lot so money is needed.

I'll get some pics up soon, but any help or advice you guys got will be much appreciated, cheers Mark

Not bad looking already :D
Definetely debadge and lower makes a huge difference also take bump strips off.
A black rear badge, bee sting ariel and tint the rear lights would go down a treat

Nice looking Valver! 8)

You don't surf with Rob by chance (got a punto?). As he was telling me about a mate of his who had bought a T-plate 16v & asking how easy it was to lower it!!! Got to be you!

Set of aero wipers would look good (on top of whats already been mentioned!) Thermostats can play up, not alot. Change the temp sender as well, as may of gone up the creak & that was giving you a wrong reading!

Got any plans for interior?

thanks guys

yeh i know Rob, do u work at Sainsburys with him? lol yeh im lowering it with my next pay packet lol im thinking maybe 40mm, what do u rekon?

my thermostat was completly ruined and the pin has somehow workek its why round into the water pump and f****d that up now. Something to do with knocking the impella out of line. So had a new thermostat put in yesturday and will have a new waterpump and cambelt changed (as you have to take that out to change the water pump so might aswell) on Tuesday

i litrally havent driven all week and its killing me! I had to pay someone to drive me around to do my delivery job lasnt night! :(

Yep, I work with Rob!

At least with all that you're changing it'll be sound for a few thousand miles!!!

You'll be dissappointed with a 40mm drop, 60mm is a nice look. Or just get coilovers, then put it at whatever height you like!!

Yep, selling Polo very soon. It gets MOT'd next week, then it will be going. Going to stay with VW, gonna get a Golf Turbo!

Give me a couple of minutes & i'll upload a pic of mine when it was on a 60mm drop (all standard now!)

Yep, 15" rims that I had refurbed myself! All wrapped in 195/45/15 rubber. 8)

Gives it a awesome look, get a good spring & shock kit, standard shox won't last with a drop over 35-40mm. A good kit will allow you to adjust the rear slightly up, gives you the scope to carry the lardies in the back!

Have a look at the kits on http://www.venommotorsport.com/ for ideas & prices. Or have a look at Jamex kits on ebay, place in Plymoth advertises on there, so may be able to save on post by collecting on the way to surf in Cornwall!

ah, one polo joins the south hams massive, another leaves..... ah well. good to knoq you're staying with the marque al. 60mm is a perfect drop if you want the car to look good whilst still being useable! mine's still on stilts, need to get some coin so i can dump it on its arse! some nice wheels wouldn't go amiss either....

Defo stay with the V-dub marque, endless possibilities, strong bit's of kit & great heritage! 8)
