I Think I can afford a Veyron!!!!

Post by Gra-GT »

Hey,

I was at Silverstone at the weekend, and on display around the paddocks was this:

:D :D :D

While I was drooling over it, I had a look at the tax disc in the window, and couldn't believe it
Image

Yes, you are reading that right! The road tax for this 1000bhp Veyron is a whopping £35  - wtf is that all about! :P

Here is the info I got off the DVLA website about it too:

The vehicle details for BUL 5 are:

Date of Liability 01 02 2010
Date of First Registration 15 01 2007
Year of Manufacture 2007
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 7993CC
CO2 Emissions 106g/Km :?
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour CREAM
Vehicle Type Approval M1
The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry.
Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £0.00
12 Months Rate £35.00

I reckon then, if bought a Veyron, it would pretty much pay for itself, by saving me money on Car tax, in only 8,500 years! Think I'll be heading down to the nearest Bugatti dealer 1st thing in the morning!!! :D

That's really weird.

Tom (modified madness) snapped a picture a while ago of one that was paying £400

Which is also cheap considering it's the same as an .:R32

Am I missing something or being totally dumb, but if its £35 a year to tax and £0.00 for 6 months, can you not just keep adding 6 months instead of 12?

Hmm, well the DVLA says that Veyron is giving out 596 Carbon dioxides, as apposed to 106 given out by BUL 5, which sounds a bit more realistic really.

I reckon it must be an import or something, and the DVLA have just cocked up :P

It's not an option, it sucks.

Yeah I saw that. Was a bit of pain how dirty the car was, I couldn't as good pictures, lol :P

I dont think it was supposed to be on display though, as I know someone who knows someone who saw it in the car park (and parked next to it :D) earlier on:
