Have a w reg polo gti, it has a standard head unit, i dont want an after market unit, but i do want to connect my ipod to it
1. is it possible
2. do vw do the kit, a part number would be great

There is a company that sells a connector that goes between the head unit and the CD changer...
It has a swith on it that lets you select the CD changer or use it as an Aux input..... Google it....
I had a look at a DIY solution a while back but it uses some sort of weird serial spdif connection for the audio.... so you need some cunning electronics to make it work

But yes VW do a specific iPod connection for the HUs if you want to go down the OEM route. Just call your local dealer and they will be able to quote the price for you...i havent got the part number anymore for it

I have a Belkin Ipod adapter that plugs into the car lighter.
It then tunes in through the car stereo settings, good bit of kit but no use to me as I dont have an Ipod.
I would consider selling it if your interested? £45
Think they are about £80.00 new and this one has barely been used
