After 12 months of ownership, the Polo has been sold to pastures new. Advertised it on the local dub forum & one guy showed interest straight off, came & viewed & bought it!
Now on the look out for a mk4 Golf 1.8T, been a member over on uk-mkivs.net since before I signed up here, as always gonna get a Golf eventually.
I'll keep dropping in tho'!!

Great choice al, I just did the same thing, picking my golf Gti 1.8T (AGU) in black magic on saturday and going to book it for a remap straight away.
Thanks for all the input and help, good luck with the golf!

Cheers mate, Looked around for a GTI before I got the Polo, couldn't find a decent one. However, patience is on my side

& i'll stick it out for a couple of weeks with no car to find a good one!
AGU is supposed to have a strong internals, altho' apparently you have to either swap the KO3 turbo for a later KO3s, or put a hybrid one on to release extra horses. AGU remaps to around 190bhp, & later models with KO3s turbo will hit 210-220+. Still be quick up to a Polo!
Other half has still got a 6n, so got a Polo in essense!

^^ I'm 'Noz' on every other VW site I could think of lol.
I'm mainly on the meets and show section where I post up my meet and convoys.
I may be getting a mk4 if I can't find the ideal mk2 or an Audi A4!

Glad to see the draw of a mk1 Golf has taken hold!

Was it the mk3 GT that finally got you to go for it?

Kinda.
I'm really unsure what to get next.
i'm browsing
Mark 3 polos GT and G40's
Mark 1 golf Gti's
Mark 2 gold Gti's
Mark 3 Golf Gti and VR6
Corrados 16v and VR6 or a g60
So much choice.

All fairly good choices. Pure retro in a mk1 Golf, mk3 Golfs GTi & VR6 are just too much of a pain to insure, corrado's are great tho' again a bit pricey.
Mk2 Golf would be a very good motor, more reliable than mk1 & plenty around, plus still relatively cheap & you can get them under classic insurance too. Bonus!!
