Turbos

What are the differences between the T25/T28 turbo and a T3/T4 turbo? And sizes?
Im looking to either put it into my 1.6 8v or if i buy the 6n2 1.6 gti enigine i will put it onto that. is it a 16v engine to?

If it is 1.6 you should go for T3, T4 will take much longer to spoolup.

hi mate not on here very often but,
the answer to your question is that the t25 and the t 28 have the same flange.
t3 and t4 have the same flange too.
basically if you turbo the 1.6 8v it will be far more easier to get hold of a manifold.
where as the polo gti engine is a 1.6 16v where the manifold is far more harder to get hold off so more then likely you will have to get one made up.
Anyway the i think you should get the t25 on the 1.6 8v, run a decompression plate about 2-3mm.
and if you want get forged pistons and steel rods for security.
you will also need bigger injectors and may need an uprated ecu for maqximum performance, cams etc.
the reason i said the t25 is to reduce lag.
