16v: Mk4 or Mk5?

As title, considering getting one but not sure which would be best.

mk4 has more power, cheaper.
mk5 is newer, probably in better condition, ABS etc.

just wanting to know which is faster (0-60, 0-100), which is more reliable (eg gearbox), which is nicer/more fun to drive, more efficient..
looks wise im not really sure which i prefer either :S

positives and negatives of both would be perfect..

ive got a 16v mk4 and love it. It also has ABS (incase you thought they didn't)

^^ Some 6n's did come with ABS as mentioned above.

6n 16v= 100bhp They're all the same!

6n2 16v = 75bhp models and 100bhp models so you'd have to know which is which.

The 6n's were built towards perfomance whereas the 6n2's were geared more towards ecomony.

Gearbox issues are all the same on these including the 6n2 1.6 16v GTi. Polo gearboxes are made of chocolate so the more powerful models do put more strain on the gearbox. However, it all depends on the gearbox inside the motor and how its been driven.
