I have had a poke around but cant find anything that would look like i poor water it.

mine clicks soetimes when ive driven along way or hard. i think its just the contracting of the engine parts as they cool. you can check the level of the coolant, its a pinky liquid in the bowl type thing on the right hand side top corner of the engine bay. its got max min lines on it.

I thought that was it! My mate who "knows it all" said that I was talking out of my arse and that it would be attached to the radiator.
Yeah mine clicks more when I have driven it hard, It does it bit if i have driven to the shop as well mind!
Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
Cheers.

FFS dont just put water into the coolant tank for the radiator

Im sure it aint just simple water that's in it! If you're engines clicking get it check by a mechanic. Though you could try topping up the oil level to see if that makes a difference

Just to add both my previous cars made that same noise so I guess it's normal behaviour. Prob either contraction of mechanical parts cooling or possibly fans still running in the engine to cool it down after you stop.

as long as you dont pour it into the power steering fluid that is beside the radiator, its up by your air filter to the right

the ticking noise is usually occurs when you've been thrashing the t.i.ts of it, or been on a long journey, mine commonly ticks and pings

The 1.0 does need a damn good thrashing to get any performance out of it. Only worries me that at 80mph its running at over 4000rpm

considering the red starts at 6,500rpm im sure theres nothing to worry about
