on thursday driving along and my temperature light was flashing so get to my destination and look at the engine to find out the small pipe that should be on the top of the water bottle had come of so i put it back on and filled the water back up and it was ok.

today i fitted the air pipe for the induction kit but hope that didnt affect it.

then later driving along and my temperature was slowly going up so pulled over and the engine was steaming and opened the engine up and alot of the water had come out of the bottle and when it cooled down the rest of the water dissapeared into the the engine slowly. not sure where or how tho. i filled it back up again and continued the journey.

i then had to stop another 2 times for the same reason on my way home as i didnt want the engine to get to hot and blow up or n e thing.

im pretty sure the engine temp sensor got changed a while ago so hopefully its not that.

thinking theres a blockage or something wrong witht he bottle as i believe i heard these are a problem with the polo.

n e ideas? and also a price to get repaired..?

im getting so sick of my car now its been problem after problem after problem. i already have it booked in for tuesday to get the tracking rods changed so might ask them to have a look at it at the same time if i cant get it sorted befor.

Sounds like you have a blocked radiator mate, or a seized thermostat - get it to someone who can fix it as soon as, as you could cause damage to the coolant channels otherwise if it keeps overheating.

ahhh alex. i was hoping ud be one of the first to reply as u and a couple others seem to know alot about cars and wats happening with them. if i can i'll get it checked tomorrow sometime.

It could either be a new rad, or just a case of using a radiator flush liquid. I think a new rad is about 50 squids.

if i got it done at a vw garage how much do u think it would be including labour?

i take it the thermostat is the temperature sensor or are they different things? cause i believe the temp sensor got changed a little while ago so hopefully its not that.

To change the radiator its relatively easy. Get one from a scrapper as it's mile cheaper. You have to remove the whole front bumper to get to the radiator aswell but it can be done in about 90mins.

its fine. got my godfather to have a look at it. he took the thermostat out and the car was running ok again. had the car booked in the next day n e way to get the track rods done so got them to put a new thermostat in as well. the guy who did it checked it all out as i left a note saying it doesnt have a thermostat as it was over heating and it seized up. the guy put a new thermostat in and checked it all over and said its all fine now.
