Hi,
My 1.4S 2007 Polo is due a second year service and was quoted from VW at £192 + £60 for the brake fluid to be changed. I cant remember paying nearly £200 for the first year service but any one know what extras are included in the 2nd year service over and above the normal service.
thanks

iirc on the first service all they do is change the oil and filter
On the second service you get new plugs and air filter add as well

They will do the pollen filter as well. they will also try to get you to change the brake fluid as this should be changed every two years but it is an additional cost, along with trying to get you to change the water and antifreeze. be aware and ask them for all the parts back that they have changed in a bag so you can check they have changed things especially the pollen filter as you will be unlikely to check that as it is an awkward thing to get in to. cheers Sandy

Hi Thanks for your replies.....I checked my book and it says that the break fluid should be changed on the 3rd year of the car and every 2 years after that, having checked my service log it has it ticketed that i need to get my brake fluid done this year, althought its only 2 years old this month....strange....
also the log book doesnt actaully say what will be done to the car, there is only an oil change service and a inspection service and they detail that and think my car will need an inspection service but doesnt detail anything about changing the spark plugs or pollen filter or air filter...stuff like that.....unless i am missing something? Do you I have to tell VW what parts i want changed?
thanks
