Has anyone removed the rear drums on their MK5 as I’m having difficulty getting mine off, I have removed the 30mm hub nut and the locating screw however the drum will not budge. Anyone know any tips to removing the drum?

Yea handbrake is off I’m removing the drums off an old rear axle, its not attached to a car. So when you removed the 30mm hub nut did the drum just come free without removing the bearing/washers first?

Yes, the drum comes off when you remove the nut. Not easily though, as it usually has an edge on the inside, especially if it's an old drum, and the brake pads keep it on. Needs muscle

on my polo i did a complete rear GTi axle conversion so i could get rear discs and the anti-roll bar so i just dropped off the old axle with the drums on and transferred over the new one very simple, but when i did take a drum off before i did have to use a hammer and give it a few "gentle" knocks to get the drum off
