Hello there,

Had a bit of a wine on my car for a while. I have replaced the fuel pump, that didn't help. I have also replaced the cambelt tensioner, which was f****d but it is still wining. The noise is definately coming from the engine.

Any ideas please? This noise is really annoying me .

Any ideas whereabouts its coming from or description of what it sounds like?

If the bearings start to mess up the gearbox also sounds like a whine. You'd know if it was that if the whine stops whilst you push the clutch.

Already done the clutch/gearbox check. Still wines. I'm pretty sure it is engine related.

Stupid question but have you got a sound system in your car?

Alternator dying on you?

All i've got is a replacement CD player. No subs or anything.

My Mrs isn't sneakily hiding in your car is she ?

does the whining get louder when reving?

it could be your fan blower motor (no joke!) these have a habit of making a dull whine that sounds engine positioned.
