Hey All you Polo Lovers,

I recently took ownership of a hot black 1.9TDi.........and i didnt give it much thinking but right away I started ripping the dash apart to fit my In dash Screen.

I took the Control unit that controls the heater and the air-con...you peeps know what I mean, when i took it out I noticed there was a rod-like part the came from somewhere, all I can say is that it is used for the direction of air flow..to the feet, on the face.

well my question is where does the other side fit into i have tried feeling around the back and cant figure out where the darn thing goes, I sort of know what im looking for but cant find it.....

Anyone managed to find out where it goes....?

P.S it is constantly blowing on , "The face" setting....

Hi There

First of all you will need to remove part of the centre consol the bit that is near the foot rest you can pull this back as attached by velcro of all things. the rod that you have removed is required to be taken of the control unit which needs to be removed as well. connect the plastic rod to the connection slot that is about six inches up inside the cover at the foot rest you may have to do this by touch, I had to, it IS A FIDDLY JOB! Once the rod is located correctly you will then be able to attach it to the control unit, make sure that you have this connected coorrectly ie. when the panel is turned to having the air at the window then the air should be going there and not down to your feet. I f you stay near Glasgow I would sort it for you as it is a nightmare and you will need a bit of patience, Good Luck sandy
