Hi, fitted a aftermarket air filter few weeks back on my 1.4 16v. Now it sounds like a dodgy tractor engine. lol and the orange check light stays on, also flashes at me. Could this be a case of having too much hot air thats being sucked into the engine? as the air filter is literally on top of the throttle body. Would it help if i fitted a cold air intake? Or just take it to vw? cheers

What filter have you fitted to it? is it a replacement element or an induction kit?

Cold air feed is a must really mate, the more cold air the better. Try to feed it directly into the air box.

If its only temp then I would put the standard air box back on for now.
Ripspeed really are shocking.
Put it back to standard and then change it when you get hold of a BMC CDA :D
