Wiper Problem

Basically iam driving down the road and the bloody wipers just come on randomly! any ideas?

Sounds like the wiper stalk microswitch has failed - may need a new stalk on there bud

cheers for clarifying that alex, took the column off today and had a nosey and it does look abit past its sell by date and smoke coming from it! i thought it might be that as i could still hear the relay clicking so it cant be that!
and its really annoying lol and you look like an idiot! so ive just had to pull the fuse out for them when it aint raining!

i think thats on a level with watching a car brake and gradually come to a stop and watch its hub caps just roll past it lol

If you get some switch cleaning lubricant spray from Maplins, that can often fix problems like this (its just grease and mess that gets stuck in the contacts over the years). Might be a cheaper fix
My horn was going off every time i turned the wheel a few weeks back - i know how it feels to have a car that controls itself! (that spray fixed it btw)
