I am a bit confused on how to take off my air box on my 1.6 the top half unscrews easily and i can take the panel filter out but then the bottom half is like attached to the engine or sumthing and i cant seem to yank it off like i did on my 1.2?? there doesnt seem to be any clips holding it on :? and what looks to be quite a few sensors.
can anyone shed any light on this??
I would like to fit a BMC CDA to it but have got stuck at the first hurdle! :(
*pics a crap quality off my phone*

it bolts to the manifold or on rubber push on mounts ! it sits directly on the throttle body!

hi, new to this forum, hope this helps out a bit, its just sat under my bed after putting my induction kit on :D this is the underside of the air box, and it is indeed on 3 rubber push on mounts which are pretty tough so you wont break it, just whip your muscles out. You can also unhook the air feed thing off after, theres 2 torx screws holding it onto the front, just follow the pipe down.

oh and btw, where did you get your exhaust system from? (price?) im struggling to get parts for the 1.6 :(

aye its only a small k+n 57i kit (Part Number: 57 - 0420), but it makes quite a noise :D, i think it was about £80 with postage off ebay. really easy to fit as it sits directly on the throttle body aswell. heres a couple of pics . . .

breather pipe . . .

i was abit sceptical before i fitted it because of the how small it was, but it sounds well good :)
