Howdy people...got 04 1.4 tdi silver...everything standard at the moment.

1st thing i need are alloys but i have no idea which to get. Firstly i don't want anything over the top just subtle ones. I'm thinking about getting 15" again just subtle...and what spec tires??

For alloy ideas have a look in the photo gallery

I would not get 15`s personally get a set of 16`s or 17`s, they look much better

If you like a set of big wheels, go for 17''. At least 7.5j in width on 205/40 R17's.

If you'd like to go German, bet on 15'' or 16'' with big juicy dishes  The tyres should be 195/45 R15 or 195/45 R16, to get a mild stretch (depending on the width of the alloys).

Cheers!

personally i like 16s but it is all personal choice. have seen some very nice 15s or 17s around as well.

basically you can put anything that you like on it and as long as you are happy with it then kudos to you.

heres some of my favourites but i do have a thing for deep dishes and scene wheels.

I run 7.5x16, 195/45 Toyos on Audi A8 Winters with adapters that bring to et20.

It works well but its a 1.9TDI and the sump is very low. I'm buying some S3 alloys soon in 17 so will gain some height.

Dished 15s would be great but there's no way you'll get it sitting right without air suspension.

if you use a vernier you can get the hights within thous of an inch less than the thickness of your hair so it is possible

I think most people are past the coilover vs air thing these days.

I meant, in my statement, that to get the stance right on 15s on a 9n you have to use air. No doubt about it, even with large widths and 50 profiles.

15s look far too small in the 9ns arches.

Id say stick to 16s and 17s.... sometime the odd 18 can look good.

But a few people cant get their car low enougb at the back to make 16s look mint. Im having to order shorter rear springs for when i get 16s.
