Hi Guys, tried downloading the Vagcom software from the vag come webby site, however when i plug it into my Gti it checks the abs and engine and says i need to register or activate the software- any ideas how i can get by this, without forking out 100's for the proper software? thanks

Do you have the fault code numbers? Should be 5 digits long?

I know this is an anicent post by me, but i'm still looking for a free way to use vag-com... I downloaded the free version but as soon as i run the diagnose tool it says i need an unlock key and doesnt give me any fault codes...

Any ideas?

Are you scanning by component engine etc or doing a full auto scan?

A full auto scan, as seemingly this is the only option :s

you should be able to select all the components.



choose the top left button

choose engine

choose fault codes

Will go give it a try..

Hmmm i guess it's just the autoscan which doesn't work with the free version.. Got no fault codes at all! is this normal?
