Basic help, engine cover 6n2 8v

Right, i know this is basic, very very very basic, but how do i take the plastic engine cover off my 6n2 8v. Ive had a look and popped off the 2 bolt covers on the top and released them but it still seems to be connect, what do i have to do to get it off, i need to get to the engine now 
Also whilst im here, is there a guide for servicing, and i know there is somewhere but is there a guide for throttle body cleaning, if so could i posibly have a link
Also, any other ideas to make the car run smoother?
