Hi all

Ive just bought a CAT D TDI, 56 plate with 18k on the clock for the girlfriend. It looks to have minor damage on the front but the airbags have popped :(

I think the drivers airbag is the same as the 3 spoke golf mk5s if anyone could confirm? However I dont know which other VAG car has the same passenger airbag? The polo ones are a rare find!

Also what other parts will I need to ensure the airbags are fully working when repaired?

Drivers
Passengers
ECU
Slipring?

Ill post pics next week when im back in the country and keep you all updated!

Thansk andy

mixture of good and bad news then!

Looking on ebay a lot of places supply the seatbelts with airbags, surely the belts are fine?

thanks andy

Belts may not be fine...pre tensioners might have deployed, especially if it was a front end collision.

Really? Surely they do? My 9n has them, so I was assuming the 9n3 did too...If not, that's another step backwards. First seat airbags aren't standard across the range now pretensioners too? :?

you ll need both air bags and the airbag ecu and the seatbelts if they have locked. if not then your ok :D you can get the top bit of the dash from the 9n (which is the round eyed polo) and it will fit no problems. also if you have the sensors in the seatbelts u may need them to as the airbag light will stay on. but thats only if your changing the belts
