Hi all,
I want to drop my car a bit as it looks like an off-roader. Its on the 1.4 16v standard alloys and I still want it to be practical, so how low can I go? Does know of anywhere in the South West that could do this and also supply the parts, Im on a bit of a budget but I dont want the ride to be total s**t!
Thanks

on standard alloys you can go as low as you want!
-60 or more, but obviously your gonna compensate the ride comfort going that low
fitting suspension on your own aint too hard, you just need a good tool kit, and sumwhere dry to work in.
low is good

i think -60mm looks the neatest!

more than that youre likely to suffer a sore back!

Chears for the advice

, do you think I could get away with just springs or will I have to go for coilovers?

i think if u go for over -60mm you will need shortened shocks. any lower, get some coilovers.

yeah you need full coil-overs going any more than -50mm, im currently at -75mm all-round, but if your on a budget i'd opt for -40 springs
lowering the car lots dont come cheap

i think the spring rates on the 8 and the 16v are different
if you want some of the eibach quality and also a mix of koni dampers the kw are the way to go as they use eibach, blistein, and koni goodness
highly recomendeed by my self and mr speedy
