When i first bought my polo, i was hit with a few problems, it over heated like mad...so i thought id change the thermostat, nothing changed, after testing the head gasket and to my relief finding that wasnt the problem me and a friend thought the radiator could have a blockage, so obviously it had to be done..to change the radiator the front end of the car has to come apart, bumpers, lights and slam panel...talking of the slam panel, heres what i found!!:(

Image

Off to VW i went to get a new panel, after the radiator was replaced and the front end back together ive not had any problems.

Next was to replace that grill! i went onto ebay and found one..brand new, delivered for 17 bucks, bargin i thought!

with the front ends new face lift, next was the horrible egg yellow indicators, i bought the black side repeaters on ebay...did think about buying front indicators and reat lights aswell but didnt want to spend the money so i went for a cheaper yet effective idea, which was to mist the lights with matt black spray...the results were satisfying.

The plan for this week was to spray the car matt black, but i couldnt be bothered lol, decided to get another bonnet, grind it down and let it rust, plans changed when i went to a mates garage, hes a vee dub fan aswell with a matt black scirroco, its lush!!

Image

The design on my bonnet.. WAS ment to be for his roof but he thought it would look awesome on my bonnet, so thats what we set out to do!..The bonnet was originally green, so that was scored using a air sander

Image

then we sprayed it matt black

Image

left it in the sun to dry

Image

then we started to apply the vinyl stickers

Image

we thought about keeping it like this but it proved difficult to keep the bubbles out so we thought we'd go for the checked look with a twist..Iron Crosses:D

Image

one half down the other half to go...
with the stickers all on ready we then sprayed over the vinyl with a white matt spray and then started to peel it off

Image

looking good so far :P

Image

the finished bonnet! look amazing don't it:D hehe now the tricky bit...putting it on the car without marking it!

Image

wala!! job done, its on and ready to inpress:P
