M3 rear clusters?

Hello there again!
I was just wondering, whether you can get any M3 style rear clusters (half red and half crystal) for the Mk4 Polo 6N?
I've been having a peak, but cant really find a lot. Dunno if its me having a blonde moment again, or whether they dont actually make them...
Sorry to be a pain, but it is really annoying me now. Any advice would be welcome. Failing the M3 rear lights, what clusters do you all think I should get for my platinum silver polo?
Lisa.

Hi Lisa,
As far as I'm aware, there aren't any red/white clusters available for the Mk4 (yet). However, if you're feeling adventurous, you could consider buying all white lights, and then spraying the parts you want red with light-tinting-spray. Don't know if this would be any good at all, but it's a thought.
I always like the all-red Mk5 lights, regardless of the colour. Aftermarket black lights can be good too. Matter of taste really.
Hope this helps!

There are no M3 style lights for the 6n and as far as i'm aware there arent any plans to make any. 2 reasons for this...
1) look at your rear indicators, they run the full length (from top to bottom) of the light so it would be difficult to make the red/white spilt look right.
2) M3 isnt currently the 'in' look - most people are going for mk5 all red lights or lexus lights.
I think you should do what Alex suggested - get some 2nd hand clear lights and spray them.
I would mask of the indicator (at the side) and spray the rest red. I'll try and do a photoshop to show what i mean.
Sometimes its good to be different

Hey guys,
Thanks for your advice. I didnt think that there'd be any M3 style lights. But I can see the reasoning behind it (the way the lights are split). Never mind.
Im thinking of going crystal front indicators and side repeaters (I think they look really smart on silver cars) and still debating over the rears.
Some people have said go clear, but I dunno if this would look right if im crystalising the front. I do like the Mk5 all red look but I wanted to look kinda different. Maybe I'll postpone the rears until I've made a final decision.
Thanks for all your help guys.
Lisa.
P.S. Does anyone know any decent places to get the rear lights from for cheap? Obviously I'm sometimes uneasy about getting parts for cheap coz sometimes they dont fit right... many ppl have had this with their golfs.
P.P.S Oooh and by the way, if you can do that photoshop that'd be wicked. I just wanna see what it looks like. I reckon it'd be kinds cool. What equipment would i need to do this? and what spray? Thank you.

sure, not a problem can someboady supply a pic of a silver car with red rear lights?
Spray can be bought from Halfords (make sure you get proper tinting spray though!) and get some wet & dry paper while your there.
www.venommotorsport.com are good for prices, have a massive range as well...

Hello there!
Thanks for your replies! There were of great use. I'm quite intruiged by John's rear clustes. Does anyone hava a head-on rear view of the lights? Failing that, I think I might go Mk5 stylee. I know they're getting pretty common, but they still look good, and that is all that matters.
Does anyone know if the Mk5 red rear clusters fit the Mk4 polo? And also, where a pair of these could be purchased from?
Thanks again EVERYONE!

Search the scrappies most cars have frontal damage leaving the rear end untouched. Try Volks Apart or volks magic there pretty good for spares or if you cant get hold of any then ask your nearest Volkswagen dealer but they wont be cheap. Aftermarket items will probably be cheaper the are some lexus style rear lights and lots of coloured units available check the Venom motorsport website.

Theres a couple of threads in this section about fitting the lights, try using the search function or PMing Speedlaw
