Brake pad warning lamp wont go off....

OK.
The warning light came on for my pads. i changed them (old pads had no wires or anything coming out of them new 1 did) i could not see anywhere to plug the brake pad connector into... how does it recognise when the pads are low?? how do i get the light off?
