Dashboard Cup Holder

Was wondering about swapping the card holder on my centre console (sits on the right) for another cup holder only thing is will it get in the way of the steering wheel?
Anyone have any experience of this?

Is there anything else i can put in its place as i have no use whatsoever for a card holder. That's what my wallet is for!

Maybe a phone holder ? Or a holder for another multimedia device -- ipod or something...

Have already hidden my ipod inside the cubby box at the top of the dash as its always connected to my headunit.
Can you get phone holders that fit in there? would be a lot handier than a card holder
