Cool, read you were going to shave the sidestrips --> Good plan. Will tidy up the side lots. Perhaps spray the handles too?

Shorten your Aerial? Think it tells you how somewhere on here. You could also remove the "Polo" and "L" Badges, Heat them up! These are easy and free mods!

Front indicators are one screw, and a plug. 2 minutes max.

Side indicators are clipped in place (so be careful levering them out) and have one plug as well. 5 minutes max, take your time getting them out of the fenders/wings.

Rear lights have three small nuts holding them in place, which can be hard to get to. Again, one plug and nothing more. Takes about 5 minutes each side, depending on how dexterious you are. Or how small your hands are...

All of the above is only for straightforward swaps, meaning the plugs/etc fit straight away. This is not the case for Mk5 rear lights, par example.

HTH!

yeh how do the Side Repeats come off a Mark 4? Do you just have to kind of break them off or what? I was having a look the other day.

Rear Lights are easy.
Front lights sound easy, let ya no by the weekend
As for Side Repeats, well we shall see.

Side repeaters are easy mate, just slide them towards the front of the car slightly and the end should pop out, failing that gently prise the end closest to the door away with a screwdriver. The only problem I had while doing mine was that the connectors on the new ones didn't match the old ones so I had to cut both the blocks of and use a new connector block thing. Also be careful not to drop the wire back inside the panel because it's a bugger to get back out, I had to enrol the services of my little sister because she's got small hands.
