Noisy Coilovers (AP's)

I've had AP Coilovers installed about 2 weeks now.

At first they were pretty quiet, but in the last week, there has been a chorus of noises coming from all sides.

To provide a little background, I previously was running H&R springs with stock shocks.
I'm also running a larger ARB at the front (Whiteline) and a rear sway (whiteline as well). I've got the similar length Ford Mondeo droplinks, urethane / nolathane bushes on control arms and engine link.

When going over a change in the road that drops slightly, I can get a clunk or a metallic rattle like the spring is hitting something. The left front is making the most noise. various rattles, seem to be worst when the road height drops rather than comes up like a speed bump.

Noticed the rears are running without the AP supplied seat, so I'll put those in on Monday when its at the mechanics.

Here is a pic of the height:

My APs (on a 9N TDI) don't have any of that. I think you may be a little lower than me (I'm now running 205/40 17s too, can't tell if they're 17s on yours).

I've just had the top mounts, and the powerflex front bushes/cupra rear wishbone bushes done too. Drives lovely now. I've not had any noises at all.

I run the standard drop links too.

This the height I'm at (low as it will go, with the adjusters in at the back):

I got noises on mine (sound like the noises you described) when the road level dropped down and never when it rose, like a speed bump.

I had the incorrect drop links on and they were hitting my inner wing!

Helper springs with APs??

Could the noise not be an ARB catching or drop links?? The mondeo ones are only slightly shorter, not a huge difference tbh.

Ive had a similar noise form the front and it was either droplink or a console bush (replaced with cupra ones)

With APs im pretty sure the helpers are built in

Its the adjust or that gets taken out, but you get 10mm.... Might aswel take it out though.

Get some pics up of it all the way down. What size key did you use to unlock them??

After installing Forge FMIC the other day (quality mod) I had a look at the suspension.

The rear end did not have the rear spring seats installed (thus why my car looks so much lower at the rear)
The seal on the bearings on the front left had been destroyed

Car is back at the mechanics today to get the bearing replaced, rear seats put it (without adjuster ring) and wheel alignment.

Hopefully when I pick it up today, it will all be sorted. Waiting to give my new found power a good blast.

I'll keep you posted.
