Which tyres? and new rear bump stops!

Hi folks.

car has been in for a service today and an MOT. All went well apart from needing 4 new tyres and the rear bump stops are broke!

So which tyres should i look at getting and is there up-rated bump stops available?? Don't really wanna be spending more than £300 on the tyres and i'm lowered on H&R springs if this matters regards the bump stops!!

Cheers.

toyo proxes t1r tyres iv found way out perform the nankang ns2's and cost the same

if money is not a problem, get some goodyear eagle f1 GSD3's, they are what i run not and have never given me a scary moment

bumpstops, i would just get another set of standard ones to be honest, only cheap from the dealers, £20 max

cheers for quick replies.

I've had Toyo's in the past and they were good, didn't know if to spend that bit more tho and get some Yokohama's. Also priced some Continental Sport Contact 3's up at £322.56 + fitting!!! Bit more than i was wanting to pay but heard they're good! Only thing is they're 195/45/16 when factory fitted tyres are 205's! Shouldn't be a problem that should it?

As for bump stops, are they relatively easy to change???

Conti Sport 3's are first class mate! Well worth the money IMO, i wouldn't cut corners for the sake of a few quid. You would regret it if anything happened, especially in this weather!

Which spec Parada? Sorry to be negative but I detest my Paradas - they are absolutely lethal in the wet. Never had such an awful tyre before and I've been through a lot!

I rate the Proxies, BF Goodrich Profiler Sport and Uniroyal Rainsports, also Bridgestone Turanzas do well.

The BF Goodrich were the best combination of price, wear and grip I've had - got the uniroyals on at the mo and they are very grippy in the wet but can't comment on wear at the moment!

You can't go wrong with choosing what the manufacturer uses, I get my tyres off eBay and then a local guy fits them. 60 each for the Uniroyals.

Right, new tyres are definately needed now!

Just been to local tyre shop and they've priced me up some Continental Sport Contact 2's up at £380 all in.
Or
They've suggested some Hankook Ventus V12 Evo which apparently VW are now putting on their new cars! Mytyres give them as good a right up as the Conti's and for them fitted its only £312.

Anyone had any experience with Hankook's or Contact 2's?

Stick with the Conti mate for sure. They have been tested and proven to be a good tyre. What about conti sport 3's?

Can't find contact 3's in the right size!!!

Also, would powerflex bump stops not be better to get than originals again??? If so, anyone no which size i'd need?

Ended up getting some Contact 2 fitted yesterday and even with little scrubbing in, they feel loads better than before. Hopefully they'll get even better which will be good.

Also swapped the bump stops today for some more original ones. £22 for the pair. Must say there aint a lot too them, and considering the condition the last ones were in, these won't last long!!! Took some measurements/dimensions though so i can try some powerflex bump stops next time!!!

On a seperate note, If in future you need new rear bump stops, fit them yourself!!! Its a piece of cake to do!
