Gearbox quick answer needed

Didn't want to make another Thread. BUT I think I'm going to strip a gearbox out of a car tomorrow for mine so I can get it back on the road.

I didn't source it, my Stepdad did through his work.
The man said its from an X-red 1.4 engine. Now obviously there's the 8v and 16v, am i right in thinking that if its a 16v, then it won't fit the 8v?

THAAANKS

did you ring them to find out ? also i had a discussion with my friend who is a bit of a car buff today and he agreed with me it would fit and most likely work but it would be sluggish compared to an 8v gearbox due to the ratios being different, you may not notice it in the lower gears but in the higher ones you will notice a definate change and it would take longer to reach speed. and seeming this car is 0-60 in like what 14-16 seconds i doubt you would weant to prolong it lol

also cheers i have put it back together and went to a guy my friend knows to see about a lot of work being done onto it he's going to give me a lot of discount and gimme a quote over the next two days, over the next year it should be a completely different car.
