taking out the Resonator

ive seen a few mk5 golfs take out the resonator in there exhuasts for bit more sound.. can this be done to the polo ? if so whats involed?

do you mean the things inside the exhaust? i call em baffles if so. my exhaust doesnt have them as i had it made like that it does gives it more sound 
mines a deisel so all u hear is the turbo going whoooooosh!

These were removed on models in Australia late 06 onwards.
I discussed with one local mechanic with a good amount of exposure to the Polo GTI and various modded ones.
His opinion was that the downpipe was the main restriction in the exhaust, but the intake was choked.
