ok story cut short is that my driver side window doesnt go down..... ive tested the switch and it working (as i can hear the click sound)
can anybody help??

Does the window still go up & down when you turn the key to the left/right in the door lock?

mate i have exactly the same problem... it does my NUT in !

no... does not come up and down after i turn the key!
im not sure on exactly what it is!

Good place to start is by checking the wires in the rubber "sleeve" between the door and chassis. It's possible that one has broken resulting in a short circuit.

it has definetly not shorted.. because i can still open the passanger side window from the drivers side door card. I got a new regulator with the motor complete! Bt turned out that was faulty aswel lol...
any more ideas?

im in the same situation my passenger window is fine... drivers has been shut since september... i have no idea why its staying shut either,

and at the drive throiugh in my kfc the window is really high my cars quite low and the window dosent open so it looks a right scene trying to order food with me half hanging out my car and reaching as far up as possible !

Haha I'm still suffering problems too!

Neither of my window switches work however I also get the ominous "clicking" sound that suggests there is power somewhere. I AM however able to activate my drivers side window using the key in lock method. Also, my central locking button on the same switch panel works fine.

I've checked the wiring between door & chassis, next stop is removal of the doorcard and further checking of wiring/giving things a bit of a wiggle!

ima go check my car now see if the windows rollup thing works it.

that makes it work... what in the blue hell ?!?... does that mean its just my switch thats knackared ?!

i put the windows down using the key and thought ahhh ill turn the ignition on and use the switch to put it up, the swich will take my window up but not put it down...

At least we have EXACTLY the same problem! Did the key make BOTH of the windows go down?

yeah both passenger and driver side windows went down...

you any idea on a solution ?. i may try to get a new switch see if that works... or anctually turn my current switch around (i.e. switch the plugs in the wrong places just underneath the switch) seeming as i know the passenger side works and see it that will make my drivers side work if it does then i know its my swich thats had it and if it dosent then the problem persists...

Aaah fook, only my drivers side works with the key. Knowing my car it'll be a different problem on each side!

Definitely worth switching switches to eliminate a potentially easy fix.

I'm currently bidding on a replacement drivers side switchset on eBay. I figured if it's not the switch afterall, I can stick it straight back on for auction!

the only window that goes down when i turn the key is the passangers.... ive jus got hold of a new regulator and motor as the other one had a fault in it only to find that this one doesnt work either... there is definetly power in the as i can connect the passangers side window to the drivers and that works.... could the loom be the problem?? not sure how thou?
