Check the photos out and tell me what you think.

The car started as a 1.4tdi twist and is now full gti spec apart from the engine and front end other than that it fools many people out there. I am very close to completing this car only the rear windows to be changed to privacy and rear opening quarters to be done, Then the remap and that will be it as the rest is done and ready to go.

All comments welcome good or bad cheers Sandy

Looks good, you could actually get a new front bumper of a 9n3 (which will cost maybe around £100) and the colour is fairly common in 9n3's then get a GTi grille with GTi headlamps and you will be sorted. Also take the TDI badges off. Then you will be a GTi without the engine! :D

Bumper's not a direct fit though, you'd need two front wings, a bonnet and if you want it to be legal, 2 9n3 wing wirrors with side repeaters. I like the exhaust and the alloys and love the colour. Not keen on the 'GT' badging at all though, but that's my 2p. Would look better lowered a bit.

Ash :)

The badging was just to make it look that bit different. I have thought about debagding apart from the vw at the back.

I believe that if I change the front end which I have thought about doing I would also need the cross member as well. I am sure I read a section on one of the forum about somebody doing it . a deep purple coloured car that does the show circuit.

Colour coding I thought about it but again I like the break up with the black at this stage. Regards lowering it I am in scotland and am driving contry roads so any lower and I will be bottoming out on some of the roads I am on that arent classified, basically access roads for the farmers that have a smearing of tarmac on them.

Cheers for the comments gents. I will try and get some pictures of the interior soon. This is also very close to being complete other than the streering wheel as I am having difficulty loccating an air bag for it at a reasonable cost as I have a brand new wheel sitting ready to go on.

nice car, im sure you have put effort in to getting it like that, it needs the front doing though for me if its going to work, different though as its not a gti colour too with the remap it would be standard gti quick too

No I don't mind you asking it was from a car that was written off 2 weeks old 752 miles on the clock from a guy in Liverpool. Unfortunately there was no air bag as the airbag system had been sold separately. This is the reason I am now looking for an air bag.

Ok lads youve seen the car now some have said lower it I hav said that it is by 15mm at the moment so if I was to lower it without coil overs what ones would you suggest and by how much?

If you don't wanna lower it TOO much at the moment, then I'd suggest getting some standard GTI springs for now. These are lower than standard 9n/3s and won't cost TOO much (nothing in comparison to coilies).

Some guy's on this forum was selling in the selling section. Give them a PM

The car is already running gti spec at the minute which is about 15-20 mm lower than what it was before. I am looking for makes and approx cost of springs that would be best for the car. I once had a fiesta mk3 that I had slammed to the deck and it could beat my friends cosworth in the country roads that were very twisty turny but he was past me in a flash once on the straights needless to say. I want to go a bit lower but not too much. Cheers for everybodies input so far.

I'd suggest Eibach or H&R springs if you don't want to go for coilovers mate :)
