Replacement keys...

Hi everyone,
I've been looking into getting another key for my Polo, sadly it only came with one! I've been to a VW dealership and they quoted me not much short of £100

That included the key and the coding (both about £50 each). Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives? I was wondering if it might be possible to buy an uncoded key (for cheaper than VW will sell me one for) then get it coded at the dealership...?
All comments and adive gladly appreciated

You can get key blanks off ebay then just get a local key cutter to cut the key (depends on which key you have mind you, whether its the newer style 'worm' laser cut, or the older style double sided key). You will still need VW to program the key though unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I though as much, I don't mind getting the coding done by VW but it does seem like a bit of a rip off when you pay so much for the key when they are potentially available cheaper elsewhere. I've got a worm laser cut style key, which I'm guessing is more difficult to get cut?

Most audi dealers can cut the new style keys
