9n door mirrors

Hey,
I want to fit some f1 look wing mirrors to my 2002 9n. Has anyone fitted non OEM ones?
The current ones are OEM electric.
How do i go about this, the stock ones have a base plate that they are fitted to. do i need to source/get someone to make some new base plates to attach the new mirrors to + how do i get the old mirrors off?
Really in the dark on this so any points in the right direction would be much appreciated.
