Looking at buying a set of wheels that come with 205/55 tyres (on 16's) and was wondering if this will cause any problems or rub at all as my polo is currently running 185/60 on 14's. The car has not been lowered at all. Possibly will be in the future though.

If its not been lowered then you may get away without it rubbing, but you're going to have problems with your speedometer accuracy. To keep it accurate you need to have 205/40/16 tyres.
Pretty good tyre size calculator:

Yeh thought my speedo would be out but would only be running them till payday till i can afford 4 new tyres. Seems 195/45/16 gives the most accurate reading
