I know this has been asked million of times....But could somebody who have them on there 9n3 please tell me the part numbers so that I can order them from stealers plus i get discounts as well

!
I know you can buy them off vagteam for £120 but it is quite steap

Also I have been told that they scrub off all the part numbers too!
From my research there are two types
Sporty ones with few holes and also notice how the honeycomb pattern doesn't continue on the corner of the side grilles:
Proper Vortex ones with holes on the side for the intercooler
The ones I want are the Vortex ones as I couldn't be arsed with making holes
Also found few part numbers which I think one is off a sporty side grille which doesn't have holes:
Side Grille - 6Q0853664H
Center Grille - 6Q0853677D
The center grille is spot onn but I want to make sure the side grilles are the one which have holes in them.....

I didn't actually think VW sold them, I thought they were just an aftermarket thing. :S Strange that they didn't put them on the actual GTi's :S.
Anyways, it doesn't take THAT long to make the wholes

I know somebody who cut all wholes in less than 45 mins. The votex ones are just the same as the sporty ones, EXCEPT, if you look carefully, just past the foglight, the honeycombe pattern carries on, where as for the sporty ones, they stop. It's hard to notice

I just chose the sporty ones.
**EDIT** Sh*t, just read that you noticed the pattern doesn't carry on for the sporty grilles!

my bad!

im not 100% on this but!
the sporty ones you've got part numbers for are from the polo dune which wont fit the polo git anyway because there slighty different in shape
The vortex ones as you call them were never made by vw, thats why you can only get them via vagteam, as i believe they are made in china as an after market item, hence thats why there so expensive!
If im wrong im sure someone will correct me!

If anyone has a Polo Gti they will need the vortex ones as they have the cut out for the intercooler as pictured below

Nice find Rich_T, i found the part number off vwwatercooled
http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f19/pol ... 864-6.html
I think the part numbers are still not clear!
The vortex ones are nice but too pricey which I understand are the original parts but still
The sporty ones are fine, as you can make holes in them but they dont seem to have a continious honeycomb pattern around the edges

KJ I have the vortex ones with the rubbed of part numbers. I'm changing my car in July, but could be persuaded to take the grills of a little early
