Alright guys guess I'll get this started, fairly new you've got some great cars on here, hopefully mine will be one of them once I've got it finished..

Its a 1.4 TDI, its not perfect yet but I love it already, it feels great as soon I see the inside and slot myself in that black and red leather Recaro!

Thought I'd start with something a little different, my mate decided to try and get in the shot too, luckily she's blocking the crap fog light haha

Image

Here's the knackered fog light, sand, presumably from gritting has got in, at least thats my best guess, along with a load of water and now it's badly corroded the chrome having come off. I'm not sure whether the light would work now either as the back of the connection almost crystallised if you get me. If anyone's got a spare I'd be willing to give them some money for it!

Image

Image

As you can see it was quite full of crap water

Plans for the car are as follows..

Immediate Plans
- New Front Tyres - hopefully Monday, going for same as already on - Toyo Proxes T1Rs
- Get a new fog light!
- Get a chipstick or something as theres quite a few little scratches when you're up close
- take out the old Cd changer as its given up the ghost and most of my stuff is on MP3 anyway

Future Plans
- Lower it! - probably with Eibach Sportlines - Cheers mboyle4 and Ben for telling me which ones to get and roughly how much it should all cost
- I was going to Superchip it but it seems a remap would be better and around £100 cheaper
- Get all the scuffs and chips out of the car, including the one some coked-up nutter from Manchester gave it as he booted the door following an argument - I'll get pics up at some point - its on the side pictured but luckily my mates step dad has a repair shop and did a quick fix when it was his car
- Get the wheels refurbed as theres some scuffs
- Maybe get a new exhaust but still hidden - not decat though
- Spray the black plastic section behind the rear VW badge as I've been looking at a few with it done and it looks tidier

- Most importantly have many fun times in it!

Remap is always the best option. I've been an agent for Elite Remaps for a while, and am about to Remap the mrs Polo (1.4 16v SE) today in fact (just need to verify the ECU is reprogrammable on this car). Won't see as big gains as a diesel obviously, but it should sharpen up the throttle response a bit and give a bit of extra power at the top end of the rev range..

I will post back and let you know how it goes.

hey F6had, yeah it would be good to see how much it improves it. I really like my car its just that it could handle so much more, plus the Colour Concepts got discs all round so the brakes would take it no probs i reckon.

Does your kind of remap just essentially just over fuel it?

Sounds like some good plans mate,

Eibach Sportlines will get it sitting nicely, the wheels on it are already really nice so you havent got to worry about them.

The Colour Concepts are not actually TDI's so despite having 75BHP as standard like the normal TDI model they dont have a turbo so its difficult to gauge how much of a performance gain you will receive with a re-map. I would expect a gain of 4-5BHP & 6 or 7 ft lbs of torque, you could also add a couple more BHP with a nice performance Exhaust & panel filter/enclosed induction kit.

Look forward to seeing the progress on your car

Ben,

Ben,
Cheers man, I like the wheels too, are they only on Colour Concepts, I've never seen them anywhere else? But it is a TDI though, not only because it said it on the back when it had badges but you can feel the turbo spool up.

Plus I've just found this on Parkers - http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Det ... eriv=19242

Ahrite sorry mate, I thought they were SDI's.
Its strange that your car only has 93 lbs ft of torque though whereas the standard 1.4 TDi has 144. perhaps its an error by Parkers.

The 1.4TDI's are capable of 110-115BHP if tuned correctly so from a standard Re-map you should be looking at about 30BHP gain & 45 lbs ft of torque.
That will transform the car making it alot quicker and will tear up hills for fun. If you can get 100-105BHP from the re-map you should be happy, check out Raz's progress thread, he also has a 1.4TDI which has been mapped.

I am 99% sure those alloys were only available on the Colour Concept Polo's both Diesel & Petrol, Alex Perkins on here did have a set on his Red GTI last year and they really do look smart.

Sorry for the late reply to this thread, I'd forgotten I'd posted in it!

I never did the remap as I realised it's a Marelli ECU which needs to be flashed on the bench and I don't have the time at the moment.

I don't develop the files myself, only cowboys do that lol

I'm an agent for one of the biggest tuning companies in the UK, Elite Remaps (http://www.eliteremaps.com)

Our files are fully rolling road tuned and tested for power and economy, most cars are listed on our site database and you can verify what your gains are going to be.

As an agent, i am a mobile tuner - this weekend for example I've tuned a 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6, 2 Accord Diesels (my speciality) and a BMW 520D M Sport.

Have a look on the site and if you're interested in a remap, drop me a line - I am more than happy to offer club discounts of around 10% off the advertised prices (I have that much discretionary power as an agent)

You can reach me directly on [email protected]

Cheers :)

Polo Colour Concept Thread - Break in!

Hey guys,

Went to give my mate a lift to work the other day, when i got to the car the passenger side window was smashed, glass all over the inside, glove box open and stuff put on the seat. The head unit in there, which had i been in Manchester i would have taken with me but being in Bath thought would be safe. The back screen was also smashed and the boot had been rummaged through, just maps and car cleaner in there though. According to one resident the back window wasn't done when he went to work that morning so some C**ts had decided to join the party. They had been as 'professional' as the ones who took the radio, they'd missed with there first shot at the glass and have chipped the paint right by the window. Compared to that the ones who took the radio hadn't left a mark, they'd use proper radio keys.

The radio i can understand but someone has also taken my satnav holder from the glove box, without satnav, left the power lead for it and also taken a swiss army knife.

So far I've paid around £100 in phone credit, and insurance excess, and thats without the radio which is cheaper not to claim for. On top of all this it as it was bank holiday they couldn't fit the glass so the car sat in the pissing rain with just black bags. Luckily work have a secure barrier so i parked it there.

Yesterday i had to drive 20miles or so to get the glass fitted. Once i got there they told me the suppliers had let them down and the rear screen wasn't there. They could have brought it later in the day but i had work. They said they would send someone out to fit it today, i was sure they said this morning. As of now, around 1pm I'm still left with a car parked half an hours walk away with a polythene rear screen.

Needless to say guys i'm thoroughly f**ked off and just disheartened by the whole thing. I don't want to buy another nice radio now in case they knick it again

Cheers for the offer mate, yeah I no, every dodge little git i see now i want to put against the wall and demand where the bloody radio is!

Yeah I think I will get an alarm, the Cat 1's are a bit out my league though so might just got a Avanti i think its called, its code a warn away feature, a nice bright led and a some anti signal stealing device.

For now I'm putting the old radios in with a trick little wire from Connect 2 that makes a mp3 player plug into the Cd changer port.

On the plus i guess i wont have this as a claim on my insurance and only had to pay £75, apparently the back window alone without labour is around £300..
