My "New" Coilovers!

Hey y'all...
I've just been and picked up my "new" H&R Coilovers! (thanks Alex!)
Got them at a bargain price, and although they look a little "used", I'm sure they'll be fine.
The paint/powder coating has come off the springs in places, but that's about it really... Alex has painted the bottoms of the struts in Hammerite Black to tidy them up a bit too.
Going to get them fitted on Saturday Morning and I'm having a full track and camber adjustment on Monday PM after they've settled a bit.
Can't wait!
Anyway, here's a pic of them:
I'll no doubt be posting a shead-load of pics once they've been fitted!!

Dude, these are the older style H&R. Before you fit them, make sure you cover them in grease, thick fat chain grease. So dismount the springs and *especially* the adjuster ring, dump them in a big bath of grease, then reassemble. You'll save yourself later nightmares, if the adjustment ring decides to seize up on you, due to rust. I'm not kidding.
Other than that, you'll love them.
Thick Fat Grease! LOTS!

Karl: Erm, no they're not... I didn't even know he was selling any?
Anyway, here's a pic of one now... What a difference some Zinc Primer and Enamel Paint can do!! (and a bit of TLC!)
Speedy: thanks for the info on greasing them up... I'll be sure to slap a load around the threads and adjuster rings.... I take it the only difference is that the new ones are galvanised or something?

Man I'm not even sure. I heard they are, but they could be stainless like the KW's too. In any case, they responded to the rusting problems and the boost in KW's sales.

If you cover the H&R's in grease, they'll be fine. Even KW's can seize...

I guess Alex must have had enough grease on these because they've not rusted at all.
Damn, I will slap LOADS of the stuff on when I fit them!!! (Maybe even waxoil?)

The test was done in salt water though, kinda pushing the limits. But still, it makes a point.
Bart (SBP) recommended chain grease, that thick s**t that stays put. What's waxoil exactly?

Hehe, no, I'm not selling her.
I've bought her an aftermarket warranty (warranty direct), a set of 20mm wheel spacers and some H&R Coilovers... So she's staying!

No, waxoil would be fine. A spray of the clear stuff thats available in an aerosol would be fine....

i used a smear of waxoil on the joints of the coil-overs
cant wait to see it when its done josh, it'll make your wheels look bigger
