GIVE ME A BRAKE!

Any1 got any ideas how to tighten the handbrake on the mk4 - it goes up about a gizillion notches and feels looser than an mum of 10 kids! HELP!
p.s. if you've got 9 brothers or sisters please don't take offense!

Prise off the plastic cover at the base of the handbrake and adjust up the cable....... nice touch a car you can adjust the cable on without getting underneath and removing the exhaust, heatshield and propshaft - cool!!!!
