1.4 ETD Gearbox Alternatives

Hi
I'm currently looking for a used ETD gearbox for a 2000 1.4 16V polo...
I'm having a bit of trouble getting hold of one, so what alternatives do I have?
I believe that DKX,DYF,FFH, FCU and FVT fit, although the ratios are different, how much of an effect will it have on the car?
