When I bought the car in october, the airco was not working. The dealer fixed it then, and it was working when I tested it on pickup.

Now with the warm weather, I tried it again and now it is not working again. Any thoughts? As the dealer "fixed" it once, I can only assume that there is no re-gassing requirements now.

Called the dealer, and he said it was re-gassed at the time to fix the issue that I had reported, so I can not believe it would require re-gassing again though.

So is it not cold at all?

When activation the aircon, can you hear the clutch engage in the engine (when turning on and off, youll hear a click noise as the air con engages)

Thanks Alex, No, it is completely warm. Not a hint of a coldness in there.

I have not checked the clicking but when I was driving it, I certainly did not remember getting any feedback when pushing the button (i.e. no clicks or anything).

My assumption is that there is a leak somewhere, they just filled it up with gas so it worked on delivery, then it has leaked ever since again or so. But I have no idea where to start looking though ...

Hmm I find it unlikely that is leaking. More likely to be the aircon clutch not engaging and pumping the gas around the system.

What would that entail Alex to fix? A replacement part of some sort?

Its possibly a fuse, or a sensor failed somewhere. Where abouts do you live mate?

ok, checked today and when you press the button, not a single noise of anything kicking into operation, unlike any of my other cars where there is a distinct clunk when you press the button.

I live near Gatwick.

Hmm check the fuse for the aircon - thats a definite sign of the aircon clutch not engaging (that explains why it is still warm). Either that, or the temp sender behind the bumper isnt working properly, as it wont work below 5C

Alex, where is the fuse? I looked in the Haynes manual but did not see it mentioned there, and I took the driver side cover over but I did not see a symbol for Airco there either.

was just looking through my haynes, its the 9th slot on the middle row

yep

Found it in the Haynes manual, had not looked at the wiring diagram section but only at 12.2.

Anyway, fuse is fine - I would have noticed that as it is also for the central locking with works fine.

So if the compressor does not kick in, and the fuse is fine, what next ... Could the gas leak be that big that there is no gas left in the system, and therefore that the compressor does not even start or would it kick in no matter what.
