Respray Front Bumper

Hi.

I'm thinking of getting my front bumper resprayed due to a few scratches that can't be polished out. I really like the gti black middle section so would be thinking of getting it done Olympic blue, then black in the middle. Question is has anyone out there had this done for me to see what it looks like on my colour. I have a 1.4 sport (2006), so I just want to see if it would look odd as I have the chrome grille.

Any idea on prices too as I recently has my rear bumper done but cost more due to the parking sensors. It cost £300.

Thanks in advance,

e

Found one like mine thats had the middle sprayed black. Not sure if I like it....

or shall I just keep it like this and just get it painted the same colour to get rid of the scuffs and chips?

Comments welcome and any ideas what I should expect to pay to get it painted and prep work....

(still think it will be around £250)

After I sort this the next plan is to drop 50mm :-)

Well, I've had a respray on my Reflex Silver bumper, and it cost me £250, but thats without the middle section (which I have now in Carbon Fibre). What I suggest you do is, spray the middle section yourself like in the thread, and then try and blag who ever your dealing with, to spray either side of the middle section, that way it MAY be less.

I think it is a great idea, a long with the GTi grille, makes your car stand out a lot 8)

Well i got a quote £230. Using a black primer so stone chips dont appear as visible. As stone chips WILL happen :( I was thinking about getting the lower middle section painted too. Ideally id like the lower honey comb ones but there pretty pricey :(

Both ideas are pretty good, both are little mods but make such a big difference. Got pictures to prove it:

Without either the lower grilles or Carbon:

With the lower grilles in:

And with both Grilles and Carbon:

Can see that it does make a lot of difference, the middle lower grille, some how makes the entire section of grille look bigger... Strange.. But very very good mods and worth the price!

Thanks for the prices and sound advice guys. Figured around £250 was about right.

Think I need to have a think what look will be better plus I fancy doing something different and maybe by leaving the middle blue. After all its not a gti so I don't want to make it look like something its not. I kind of like the chrome grill so may adapt on that?

Cheers again.

Been to Sinclair body Repair Centre in Bridgend today, where I had my rear bumper resprayed (they did a top job to be fair). They quoted 150 quid for doing each end so it gives me time to either do the black in the middle myself or leave it as it is undamaged unlike the scuffs on each of the sides. All in all i'm pretty impressed with that. Pics uploaded once its done.
