Arrgh.. how vague can a gearbox be!

Afternoon - had a look around but can only find relevant to 86C and 4 speed boxes.
I have a sloppy - pudding bowl change, does anyone have a guide on how to change and what parts need to be changed?
I'm a ex Rover boy and with the 200 sloppy changes the best mod was to weld a MK6 Fiesta UJ in place to ensure a new car change - do you have to go to that extent with a Polo? it seems there are the 'finger' parts and linkage bushes available but where and what ones?
