Going to decat - bit of pipe or £300 decat pipe?

Im gonna decat my car hopefully within the next few weeks
Just wondering, if anyone has done it before on the GTi
What did you go for, cut the cat out and weld in new bit of pipe or the £300 decat pipe from the likes of Miltek, Blueflame ect?
Is there actually any noticable benefit of forking out £00ish over £10 for a bit of 2.5" pipe?
Thanks for any advice

the decat pipe is a bolt in section and will have locations to house your lamda sensors which will need mapping out if you do not want a engine light on
and if you go this route your standard cat remains untouched so could always be replaced for mot time or resale time
cut up your original cat and no comeback

Ahh rite, that explains the price then
Thanks for the info, probably best going with a miltek/bluegflame decat to save the sensor hastle and MOT time ect
Cheers dude
So anyone know of any good decat pipes, from the likes of Miltek, Blueflame.. demon tweeks ect?
Links would also be very helpful.. do I need the 63mm or 76mm one? For a 2007 GTi

Sounds a much better (cheaper) option!
How did you get around the emmissions light coming on mate?

Did they map out just that sensor or basically everything do do with the emissions light? Like a fancy way of taking out the bulb?
Can any mappers do this? Im getting a REVO map soon from Intelligent Tuning in North Wales, they should be able to surely?

just basically remapped the sensor so it would accept higher emmissions but not read too high so the senor and system would give me warnings if there were other probs jason at more-bhp did mine for me
