bike carbs for 1.0mpi???

is it a very expensive mod to do for this type of engine? does it consume much more fuel and it would be great to hear some feedback from someone who have already done it

what carbs are best for the polo?
I found this list for some of the parts you would need and their estimate prices (here the manifold is mentioned twice and the carbs can be bought for less):
Inlet manifold £176.25
Overhaul customers carbs £78.75
Manifold and R1 carbs £320
Facet fuel pump and Filter King regulator £69
Universal choke cable kit £12

wud it really be worth it onto a 1.0 tho?
and dont you need to change the pdal box in a 6n2 sayin as its flyby wire not cable?

I heard that I makes quite a good difference especially on small engines, not sure though. Yeah most probably the pedal box will have to be changed with a 6n if they are cable operated. It is still just a very vague idea...just collecting ideas and opinions. I thought of this idea cos they really look great and sound especially awesome

Why wouldn't you keep the box though? Wouldn't it be cooler to strip down the throttle body and use the actuator and bits to operate the carbs? The positions will still be the same?
Although, response might not be as good.

the drive by wire is one of the things I hate most in my car as it seems sluggish and suffers from a slight lag at fast throttle from idle. So I would be more than happy to get rid of it if it was the case

I agree with you there, but, at the end of the day, it's a 1 litre. Is the performance from bike carbs really going to enhance it that much.
Get a decent airfilter with a good cold air feed, and that's about the most you'll get tbh.
Don't spent money doing up a 1 litre, it's not worth it.
Make it look better, not faster.

yeah I wasn't too sure either about the nifty performance gain I will get. I will save up for a TDI one day and tune that one hehe

I think the bike carbs are a sweet idea though, don't get me wrong. I just dont know how much faster it'll actually make it.
How would management work though? Just leave the injectors attached but no fuel lines?
I like the idea though, but is it worth the cost?
The manifold on the back looks pretty big, so you could defo get a set of carbs in, its doesn't look too hard tbh.

as for the management you will have to remove everything attached to the standard intake manifold and therefore even the standard injectors. you have to buy a new fuel management system for the new carbs and their fuel jets. It is quite expensive but said to be much cheaper than individual throttle bodies or a set of webers. I have got a pdf file that explains everything about them, maybe some time I uploaded for you

but then if your having a 6n pedal box are they cable clutches i'm not that sure but in the 6n2 there hydraulic aren't they so that would be a ball ache

Could you not just leave the injectors still in place and just take off the fuel lines.
Then the car thinks it's fuelling correctly, and the carbs do they're own thing? You'd just have to get them tuned properly..
Upload the PDF mate, I'm curious about what it says.
Cause it would be a fortune to then run standalone management too..

nah my clutch on the 1.0mpi doesn't seem to be hydraulic mate not sure about other models though

nah you can't just leave the injectors there cos they are attached to the inlet manifold and that has to be removed. in that pdf you have an estimate of the costs (though in the pdf they were to be fitted on a nova)
